One of the many things I learned from my Dad is that you should choose your business partners wisely. You don’t want to have a schmuck as a partner or do business with one either, if you can help it.
In line with this, as I learn(ed) about value investing, one of the things to look for is how the CEO and top brass of a company present themselves. Is the annual report focused on them, a big glossy picture on the cover or 1st page? Do they talk about their achievements? Or are they focused on the company, the team and customers and what they have accomplished and/or failed to accomplish over the year?
So, when I went to the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) website to see the charges being pressed against the leaders of Israel's government the first thing I noticed was Karim Khan. Big picture, front and center. Took up more than the whole website screen. And the next thing you see after a line of text is the screenshot of the video presentation of the charges. There he is, right in the middle, flanked by the 2 most unhappy people I have seen in suits. It looks like a SNL opening for a skit. You can see it all HERE
First off, given the above, I would not partner with this guy let alone buy anything from him.
Second, anyone watching this in the Western World should have heart palpitations and feel the sweat begin to form on the brow. You are watching how your civilization has institutionalized its own suicide, creating a situation in which you will be forced to slowly watch terrorists kill, rape and maim while hiding behind a civilian population. The ICC has created a judicial shield protecting evil, while preventing its many signatories (of which Israel and the USA are not, thank Gd) from acting to protect the citizens of their states.
The ICC, with its head prosecutor, Khan, has not presented charges against Israel but rather exposed the dysfunctional concept of justice that is driving many Western States and how a once grand society, that has given so much to the world, has perverted its moral foundation.
I do not think this is going to work out well.
